Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations and ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is central to operational performance and requires strong hands-on leadership, process optimization skills, and effective workforce coordination.

The Production Manager will be responsible for planning and executing production schedules, supervising production teams, monitoring machine performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure smooth production flow and timely delivery of finished goods.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in manufacturing environments, strong people management capabilities, and the ability to perform under high-pressure production conditions.


Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Plan, execute, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
• Ensure production plans align with demand forecasts and delivery commitments
• Balance output targets with resource availability and operational constraints
• Adjust schedules proactively to address production issues or changes in demand

Daily Production Operations

• Oversee day-to-day production activities across shifts
• Ensure efficient use of machinery, materials, and manpower
• Monitor production output, cycle times, and throughput
• Address operational issues quickly to minimize production disruptions

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Supervise production supervisors, operators, technicians, and support staff
• Manage manpower planning, shift scheduling, and overtime requirements
• Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback
• Build a disciplined, motivated, and safety-conscious production workforce

Quality Assurance & SOP Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and SOPs
• Coordinate with quality teams to address defects and non-conformances
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues
• Promote “right first time” manufacturing practices

Equipment Performance & Downtime Control

• Monitor machine performance, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and reliability
• Support preventive maintenance planning and quick breakdown response
• Identify recurring equipment issues and support long-term solutions

Productivity & Process Improvement

• Identify and implement productivity, efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives
• Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement programs
• Optimize workflows, layouts, and production processes
• Improve labor productivity and reduce waste

Safety, Compliance & Discipline

• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental procedures
• Promote safe working practices and enforce safety rules on the shop floor
• Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to permit systems
• Support safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions

Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams

• Coordinate closely with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams
• Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and process changes
• Participate in production meetings and operational reviews

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze production data, efficiency metrics, and performance trends
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production performance reports
• Track KPIs such as output, efficiency, scrap, rework, and downtime
• Provide insights and recommendations for performance improvement

Continuous Improvement & Change Management

• Support implementation of new technologies, processes, and equipment
• Lead change management initiatives on the shop floor
• Encourage team involvement in improvement ideas and problem-solving
• Drive a culture of accountability and operational excellence


Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline
• Additional training in production management or lean manufacturing is an advantage
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations


Experience Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in production or manufacturing management
• Proven experience managing teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Strong exposure to production planning, execution, and performance monitoring
• Experience working with production KPIs and improvement initiatives
• Hands-on experience in shop-floor leadership and workforce coordination
