Job Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware Supply Chain Planner to manage demand forecasting, inventory planning, and cross-functional coordination across procurement, logistics, sales, and operations teams. This role is critical in ensuring uninterrupted product availability while minimizing excess inventory, reducing supply chain costs, and optimizing working capital.

The Supply Chain Planner will play a central role in aligning supply with demand by using data-driven forecasting models, inventory optimization techniques, and structured planning processes. You will be responsible for translating sales forecasts and market insights into actionable replenishment and inventory plans that support service-level targets and business growth.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent system knowledge, and the ability to collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced supply chain environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in supply chain planning, strong command of ERP systems, and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable decisions.


Key Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting & Planning

• Develop accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, and business inputs
• Analyze demand patterns and variability to improve forecast accuracy
• Collaborate with sales and commercial teams to incorporate promotions, campaigns, and market intelligence into forecasts
• Continuously review forecast performance and adjust models to reflect changing market conditions
• Identify demand risks and opportunities and communicate them proactively to stakeholders

Inventory Planning & Optimization

• Plan inventory levels across warehouses and distribution points to balance service levels and working capital
• Define safety stock, reorder points, and replenishment parameters
• Minimize stock-outs, excess inventory, and obsolete stock
• Monitor slow-moving and aging inventory and recommend corrective actions
• Support inventory segmentation strategies (ABC, XYZ, critical items)

Replenishment & Supply Coordination

• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment of materials and finished goods
• Align purchase plans with demand forecasts and inventory targets
• Work closely with logistics teams to ensure smooth inbound and outbound flows
• Manage lead times, order quantities, and delivery schedules
• Support resolution of supply disruptions and shortages

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Support

• Actively support S&OP processes by providing demand, inventory, and supply inputs
• Prepare planning scenarios and supply-demand balance views
• Participate in S&OP meetings and planning reviews
• Align supply chain plans with sales targets, production capacity, and financial objectives
• Support consensus planning and decision-making

Inventory Performance Monitoring

• Monitor stock movement, inventory turnover, and days of inventory on hand
• Identify risks related to overstocking, understocking, or demand volatility
• Track inventory accuracy and system vs physical stock alignment
• Recommend inventory optimization initiatives to improve performance
• Support cycle counting and inventory control processes

Warehouse & Space Utilization Optimization

• Analyze warehouse capacity and space utilization
• Optimize replenishment cycles and stock placement strategies
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to improve material flow and storage efficiency
• Support initiatives to reduce handling, congestion, and operational inefficiencies
• Ensure inventory plans align with warehouse capabilities

Data Analysis & Supply Chain Insights

• Analyze supply chain KPIs such as forecast accuracy, service levels, fill rate, and inventory turnover
• Identify trends, gaps, and root causes of performance issues
• Prepare actionable insights and recommendations for improvement
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven analysis
• Develop dashboards and reports to support planning decisions

ERP & System Data Management

• Maintain accuracy of planning parameters, master data, and system settings in ERP systems
• Ensure correct setup of lead times, MOQ, safety stock, and reorder rules
• Work with IT and system teams to improve planning tools and reports
• Support system enhancements, upgrades, and user training
• Ensure data integrity to support reliable planning outputs

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with procurement, logistics, warehouse, sales, finance, and operations teams
• Act as a key link between commercial demand and supply execution
• Communicate planning assumptions, risks, and constraints clearly
• Support alignment between business priorities and supply chain capabilities
• Facilitate collaboration to resolve supply-demand conflicts

Reporting & Management Communication

• Prepare inventory, demand planning, and supply chain performance reports
• Present planning insights, risks, and improvement actions to management
• Track progress against targets and agreed action plans
• Support business reviews and operational planning meetings
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required


Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
• Professional certification in supply chain planning or analytics is an advantage
• Strong understanding of demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain fundamentals


Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, or inventory planning roles
• Proven experience in demand forecasting and inventory optimization
• Hands-on experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
• Experience supporting S&OP or integrated business planning processes
• Exposure to retail, FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution environments is preferred
