Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Maintenance & Reliability Manager to ensure maximum equipment uptime, effective preventive maintenance, and long-term reliability of manufacturing assets. This role is critical in supporting uninterrupted production, improving operational efficiency, and extending the life cycle of plant equipment.

The Maintenance & Reliability Manager will lead maintenance strategy, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for managing maintenance teams, planning shutdowns and overhauls, controlling maintenance costs, and implementing reliability best practices to reduce unplanned downtime.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in manufacturing maintenance, a deep understanding of plant equipment and reliability systems, and proven leadership skills to manage teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.


Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy & Program Development

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Establish maintenance strategies aligned with equipment criticality and production requirements
• Shift maintenance practices from reactive to proactive and reliability-centered approaches
• Optimize maintenance intervals based on equipment performance and failure history

Equipment Reliability & Uptime

• Ensure high availability and reliability of plant machinery and production equipment
• Reduce unplanned breakdowns through effective planning and root cause analysis
• Monitor equipment performance indicators and reliability metrics
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve asset performance

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead, manage, and develop maintenance engineers, technicians, and supervisors
• Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure effective utilization of maintenance resources
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job coaching to maintenance teams
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Shutdowns, Overhauls & Upgrades

• Plan and execute shutdowns, overhauls, and major maintenance activities
• Coordinate internal teams and external contractors during shutdowns
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, on time, and within budget
• Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and capacity improvement projects

Spare Parts & Maintenance Budget Management

• Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components
• Optimize inventory levels to balance availability and cost control
• Develop and manage maintenance budgets in line with business objectives
• Monitor maintenance expenditure and identify cost-optimization opportunities

Failure Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze equipment failures, downtime data, and maintenance history
• Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement improvement actions
• Track recurring issues and develop long-term reliability solutions
• Apply reliability engineering tools and best practices

Coordination with Production & Engineering

• Coordinate closely with production teams to align maintenance schedules with production plans
• Minimize production disruption through effective communication and planning
• Support troubleshooting during production issues and emergencies
• Work with engineering teams on equipment modifications and new installations

Safety, Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, engineering standards, and company policies
• Promote a strong safety culture within maintenance activities
• Ensure safe execution of maintenance work, including lockout/tagout and permit systems
• Support safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions

CMMS & Asset Management Systems

• Utilize CMMS systems to plan, schedule, and track maintenance activities
• Ensure accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts data
• Improve data quality and reporting within asset management systems
• Use system data to drive maintenance and reliability decisions

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

• Prepare maintenance performance, cost, and reliability reports for management
• Track KPIs such as equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance cost, and backlog
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve maintenance effectiveness
• Support management reviews and strategic planning with data-driven inputs


Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Additional training or certification in maintenance or reliability management is an advantage
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, utilities, and maintenance practices


Experience Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or reliability roles
• Proven experience managing plant equipment, utilities, and production machinery
• Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Experience working with CMMS and asset management systems
• Exposure to continuous improvement or reliability engineering initiatives is preferred
