Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced, disciplined, and operationally strong Warehouse Manager to oversee large-scale warehouse operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is critical to ensuring accurate inventory management, safe warehouse operations, efficient order fulfillment, and high workforce productivity in a fast-paced and performance-driven logistics environment.
The Warehouse Manager will have end-to-end responsibility for inbound, storage, picking, packing, and outbound dispatch operations while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and security standards. You will lead warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and labor staff while coordinating closely with logistics, transport, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure seamless material flow and on-time deliveries.
This role requires strong hands-on leadership, deep knowledge of warehouse processes, experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), and the ability to manage large teams while maintaining strict control over inventory accuracy and operating costs.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
• Manage daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
• Ensure smooth workflow across inbound and outbound operations without congestion or delays
• Establish clear operational priorities and allocate resources accordingly
• Ensure warehouse operations meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and delivery timelines
• Handle operational challenges such as volume spikes, labor shortages, or system disruptions
Inventory Control & Accuracy
• Ensure high inventory accuracy through robust cycle counting and physical stock audits
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and variances
• Maintain strict controls over stock movements, transfers, and adjustments
• Ensure FIFO / FEFO principles are followed where applicable
• Minimize inventory losses due to damage, misplacement, or process failures
Warehouse Layout & Process Optimization
• Design and implement optimal warehouse layouts to improve space utilization and material flow
• Improve picking paths, storage logic, and slotting strategies
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement operational improvements
• Drive productivity enhancements through process standardization and optimization
• Support automation, racking upgrades, and system improvements where applicable
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
• Lead, supervise, and develop warehouse supervisors, team leaders, and labor staff
• Plan manpower requirements based on volume forecasts and operational needs
• Manage shift schedules, overtime, attendance, and labor productivity
• Set performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews
• Build a disciplined, accountable, and safety-focused warehouse culture
Safety, Security & Compliance
• Ensure full compliance with warehouse safety regulations, security protocols, and company policies
• Enforce use of PPE and safe material handling practices
• Conduct regular safety inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
• Ensure warehouse equipment and infrastructure meet safety standards
• Minimize incidents, accidents, and near-misses through proactive safety management
Equipment & Material Handling Systems
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and racking systems
• Ensure equipment availability and safe operation
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and inspections
• Ensure proper training and certification of equipment operators
• Reduce downtime related to equipment failure
Coordination with Logistics & Transport
• Coordinate with transport and logistics teams for daily dispatch planning
• Ensure accurate and timely staging of outbound shipments
• Support route planning and vehicle loading efficiency
• Resolve dispatch delays, shortages, or documentation issues
• Ensure smooth handover of shipments to transport partners
Cost Control & Productivity Management
• Monitor warehouse operating costs including labor, utilities, equipment, and consumables
• Track productivity KPIs such as picks per hour, lines per shift, and labor utilization
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality
• Ensure warehouse operations remain within approved budgets
• Improve cost efficiency through process improvements and workforce optimization
Issue Resolution & Operational Control
• Handle operational issues, deviations, and emergencies effectively
• Investigate root causes of operational failures and implement corrective actions
• Manage peak periods, urgent orders, and special handling requirements
• Ensure operational discipline and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Systems, WMS & Data Management
• Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and barcode/RFID systems effectively
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and real-time inventory visibility
• Maintain master data accuracy and process discipline
• Support system upgrades, enhancements, and user training
• Leverage data and reports to drive operational decisions
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse performance reports
• Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rate, turnaround time, and productivity
• Analyze trends and highlight risks or improvement opportunities
• Present warehouse performance updates to management
• Support audits and management reviews with accurate data
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations
• Promote lean warehousing principles and best practices
• Encourage team involvement in improvement ideas and problem-solving
• Implement standardization and visual management techniques
• Improve operational resilience and scalability
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
• Degree or diploma in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Additional certification in warehouse or logistics management is an advantage
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling
Experience Requirements
• Minimum 6 years of experience in warehouse or distribution center management
• Proven experience managing large-scale warehouse operations
• Hands-on experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and audits
• Strong experience using WMS and barcode-based inventory systems
• Experience managing large teams and multi-shift operations
• Experience working in logistics, retail, manufacturing, or distribution environments
