Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and results-driven Logistics Operations Manager to lead end-to-end logistics, warehousing, and distribution operations across regional supply chains in Muscat, Oman. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient movement of goods, cost optimization, service-level excellence, and full compliance with local and international logistics regulations.

The Logistics Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for inbound and outbound logistics, transportation management, warehouse coordination, and vendor performance across multiple locations. You will play a key role in designing and executing logistics strategies that improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

This position requires strong leadership capabilities, hands-on operational experience, and deep knowledge of supply chain optimization, transportation systems, warehouse operations, and performance management within a GCC logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Logistics Operations Management

• Oversee daily logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities
• Ensure smooth coordination between inbound logistics, storage, and outbound deliveries
• Maintain operational control across multiple locations and distribution points
• Ensure logistics operations meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and customer expectations
• Manage volume fluctuations, peak periods, and urgent delivery requirements

Transportation & Distribution Management

• Manage inbound and outbound shipments across regional and international supply chains
• Optimize transport routes, delivery schedules, and load planning
• Coordinate with transport vendors to ensure timely and safe movement of goods
• Monitor vehicle utilization, delivery performance, and freight efficiency
• Ensure proper handling of time-sensitive, high-value, or special cargo

Warehouse Operations Oversight

• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
• Ensure inventory accuracy, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and efficient material flow
• Coordinate with warehouse managers and supervisors to improve productivity
• Support warehouse layout optimization and process improvement initiatives
• Ensure warehouse operations align with logistics and distribution plans

Logistics Strategy & Process Optimization

• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost control
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and warehousing processes
• Standardize logistics procedures and best practices across locations
• Support automation, digitalization, and system enhancement initiatives

Vendor, Freight Forwarder & Customs Coordination

• Coordinate with freight forwarders, transport vendors, customs agents, and clearing partners
• Manage service contracts, SLAs, and performance expectations
• Negotiate freight rates, transport contracts, and logistics service agreements
• Monitor vendor performance and address service gaps
• Ensure smooth customs clearance and regulatory compliance

Cost Control & Budget Management

• Develop and manage logistics budgets and operating costs
• Monitor freight costs, warehousing expenses, and distribution spend
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality
• Analyze cost variances and implement corrective measures
• Ensure logistics operations remain within approved budgets

KPI Monitoring & Performance Management

• Monitor logistics KPIs including OTIF (On-Time In-Full), delivery lead time, freight cost, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment rates
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Implement performance improvement initiatives based on KPI analysis
• Drive accountability for performance across logistics teams and vendors

Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Adherence

• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international logistics regulations
• Ensure adherence to customs, transport, safety, and security requirements
• Promote safe handling, storage, and transportation practices
• Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews
• Ensure documentation and records meet compliance standards

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead logistics teams including supervisors, planners, warehouse staff, and support personnel
• Define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
• Manage manpower planning, shift scheduling, and resource allocation
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
• Build a performance-driven, safety-focused logistics culture

Issue Resolution & Customer Escalation Handling

• Resolve operational bottlenecks, delivery failures, and service disruptions
• Handle customer escalations related to logistics and delivery performance
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve complex operational issues
• Implement preventive actions to reduce recurring problems

Systems, TMS & WMS Utilization

• Oversee effective use of transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Ensure data accuracy, system discipline, and real-time visibility
• Support system upgrades, integrations, and reporting enhancements
• Leverage system data to drive operational decisions and improvements

Reporting & Management Communication

• Prepare detailed logistics performance, cost, and operational reports
• Present insights, risks, and improvement plans to senior management
• Provide regular updates on logistics operations and service performance
• Support strategic planning and decision-making with accurate data

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
• Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management is an advantage
• Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics and distribution operations

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations
• Proven experience managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution functions
• Experience working with regional or multi-location logistics operations
• Strong exposure to GCC logistics regulations and practices
• Experience managing vendors, freight forwarders, and customs agents
• Prior experience in multinational or large-scale logistics environments preferred
